The Silverstream Wellington Bridge project involved the construction of the Whakawhirinaki Pipe Bridge across the Te Awa Kairangi / Hutt River. This essential structure supports a 1-meter diameter steel pipeline that supplies water to Porirua City and North Wellington. The bridge also features walking and cycling pathways, making it a key addition to the region’s infrastructure.

Solution

For this ambitious project, our team provided two 4-inch diesel surface pumps and pumping equiptment. These pumps were crucial for dewatering the chambers for the pipeline and the piles for the bridge’s foundations. The piles, extending 14 meters deep, required efficient and reliable dewatering to ensure the stability and safety of the construction site.

Given the project’s scale and duration, our pumps operated around the clock, often running 24/7. This level of continuous operation posed a significant challenge, but our equipment rose to the occasion. The efficiency of our pumps was critical, especially considering the project's emphasis on reducing carbon usage.

Despite the demanding conditions and the extended project timeline, our pumps consistently delivered high performance.
