Hibiscus Coast Emergency Bypass

Introduction

When critical wastewater infrastructure required an emergency bypass, our customer needed a reliable pumping solution that would protect the surrounding community while allowing essential works to proceed. With the project located within a residential area and close to sensitive environmental assets, maintaining uninterrupted wastewater services was critical.

The Solution

NZ Pump & Energy worked alongside the project team to deliver a staged bypass pumping solution tailored to the project's changing requirements. The initial installation included two Sykes CP150i diesel pumps, with additional pumping capacity added as the project progressed to meet site demands.

To maximise reliability, the system incorporated multiple high-level alarm systems, telemetry monitoring and upgraded HDPE bypass pipework, ensuring continuous operation and providing redundancy throughout the works.

The Outcome

The bypass system enabled the client to complete essential maintenance while maintaining wastewater services for the surrounding community. By delivering reliable equipment, responsive support and a flexible pumping solution, NZ Pump & Energy helped minimise disruption to local residents, protect the surrounding environment and keep this critical infrastructure project progressing safely and efficiently.
